Meet the Mead Men
Derek and Dominick Zirkle, twin brothers from Madison, OH, established D&D Meadery in 2024. They took up homebrewing mead as a hobby in-between college studies and work. When they discovered this craft to be a passion, they turned their hobby into a business. They chose the Zirkle family crest as the D&D Meadery logo to symbolize a legacy of mead making. Their ancestors were kellermeisters, or winemakers, in Germany. With the creation of D&D Meadery, Derek and Dominick hope that this ancient drink will be a favorite in homes of folk everywhere!

We submitted our traditional mead to the National Honey Board’s 2024 Mead Crafters Competition, and we won GOLD for the category "Honey Wine, Dessert: Sweet." Our mead was judged alongside nationally-recognized meaderies, such as Superstition Meadery from Prescott, AZ. To see the full results on the official website, click the link.
The Mead Hall
Currently, we are not open to the public. Our facility is solely for producing mead. In the future, we foresee opening a tasting room. More information will be posted on this site when the time arrives. In the meantime, we sell our mead at events, festivals, retail locations across northeast OH and online. We also hold tastings of our mead at various retail sites.
